قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: عَجَبًا لِأَمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ، إِنَّ أَمْرَهُ كُلَّهُ لَهُ خَيْرٌ، وَلَيْسَ ذَاكَ لِأَحَدٍ إِلَّا لِلْمُؤْمِنِ، إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ شَكَرَ، فَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ، وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ صَبَرَ، فَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ
“Blessed is the believer whose entire journey—joy and sorrow alike—becomes a path to goodness through gratitude and patience.”
Literal translation
الترجمة الحرفية“The Messenger of Allah said: Wonderful is the affair of the believer. All his matters are good. If prosperity comes to him, he is grateful, which is good for him. If adversity befalls him, he is patient, which is good for him.”

A hadith narrated by Ṣuhayb al-Rūmī: wondrous is the affair of the believer — all of it is good; in ease he gives thanks, and in hardship he is patient, and both are good for him. Recorded in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim (2999) — authentic.
حديثٌ يرويه صهيب الرومي رضي الله عنه: «عجباً لأمرِ المؤمن، إنّ أمرَه كلَّه له خير... إن أصابته سرّاءُ شكر فكان خيراً له، وإن أصابته ضرّاءُ صبر فكان خيراً له». أخرجه مسلم (٢٩٩٩)، وهو حديثٌ صحيح.
