إذا لم تستطع أن تؤذي عدوك فاجعله صديقك

من لم يتعلم في صغره لم يتقدم في كبره

حُسنُ الخُلقِ يورثُ المحبةَ، وسوءُ الخُلقِ يورثُ الوحدة

الصديقُ الحقيقيُّ مَن يمسك يدك حين تسقط، لا من يبكي عليك بعد أن تسقط

“A true friend is one who holds your hand when you fall, not one who weeps for you after you have fallen.”

كثيرٌ من الناسِ يعرفون عيوبَ الآخرين، وقليلٌ منهم يعرفون عيوبَ أنفسهم

“Many people know the faults of others; few know their own.”

الصبرُ مفتاح الفرج، وإن كان مرًّا في البداية

“Patience is the key to relief, even if it is bitter at first.”

لا تحتقرن أحدًا، فإن الجوهر النفيس قد يُخبأ في حجر لا يُنظر إليه

“Do not despise anyone — a precious gem may be hidden in an unremarkable stone.”

الكلامُ كالدواء: القليلُ منه يشفي، والكثيرُ منه يقتل

“Words are like medicine: a little heals, too much kills.”

الراحةُ لا تُنال إلا بعد التعب، والفرحُ لا يُعرف إلا بعد الحزن

“Rest is not attained except after toil, and joy is not known except after sorrow.”

مَن رأى عيبَ نفسه اشتغل به عن عيوب الناس

“Whoever sees his own faults is too occupied with them to notice the faults of others.”

الحكيمُ يتعلمُ من أخطائه، والعاقلُ من أخطاء غيره، والأحمقُ لا يتعلم أبدًا

“The wise man learns from his own mistakes, the intelligent from others', and the fool learns from neither.”

إذا اتسع صدرك للمصيبة لم تجد فيها ألمًا

“If your heart is wide enough to embrace calamity, you will find no pain in it.”

خيرُ الناسِ مَن ينفع الناس

“The best of people are those who benefit others.”
