مَن جَدَّ وَجَد

“He who strives, finds”

مثَلٌ عربيٌّ تربويٌّ مشهور يقوم على جناس «جَدَّ» و«وَجَد»، ومعناه أنّ مَن اجتهد ظَفِر بمراده. وهو من الأمثال السائرة بلا قائلٍ معروف، يُلقَّن للناشئة كثيراً مقروناً بقرينه «من سار على الدرب وصل».

A classic Arabic educational maxim — its words jadda (strives) and wajada (finds) chiming together — meaning that effort yields its reward. A saying of the proverbial tradition with no single named author, it is often taught to students alongside its companion, “whoever walks the path arrives.”
