مثَلٌ في قيمة القُرب: فالصديق القريب قد ينفع وقت الحاجة أكثر من أخٍ بعيد. والمعنى شائعٌ بين الأمم — وللعرب فيه «جارٌ قريبٌ خيرٌ من أخٍ بعيد» — كما ورد قريبٌ منه في سفر الأمثال (٢٧:١٠)، وهو من الحِكَم المشتركة لا قولَ قائلٍ بعينه.
