الزمن

سِرِ الدَّهرُ حَتّى تَعلَمَ القَدرَ حَقَّهُ فَكَم مِن مَليكٍ أَضحَكَ الدَّهرُ ثُمَّ أَبكى

“Walk with time until you truly know its weight — how many a king did time first make laugh, then weep.”

ضَحِكنا وَكانَ الضَّحكُ مِنّا سَفاهةً وَداعي البُكاءِ الدَّهرُ وَالعُمرُ مُنهَلّ

“We laughed, and laughter was our folly; weeping is more fitting — for time erodes all and life spills away.”

اشربْ من نهر اللحظة الحاضرة، فالماضي ذهب ولا تعرف إن كان الغد سيجيء

“Drink from the river of the present moment — the past is gone and you do not know if tomorrow will come.”

أَنتَ لا تَعرِفُ قِيمَةَ الحَياةِ حَتّى تَعرِفَ قِيمَةَ الوَقت

“You do not know the value of life until you know the value of time.”

يُخطِئُ مَن يَظُنُّ أَنَّ الزَّمَنَ يَمضي دونَ أَن يَترُكَ أَثَراً في الرّوح

“He is wrong who thinks time passes without leaving a mark on the soul.”

كُن في الزَّمانِ ابنَ يَومٍ لا ابنَ أَمس وَلا تُفَكِّر في غَدٍ لَم يَأت

“Be a child of today, not yesterday, and do not think of a tomorrow that has not yet come.”

آنٍ حاضِرٌ خَيرٌ مِن أَلفِ غائِب

“A present moment is worth more than a thousand absent ones.”

يَدُ الأَيّامِ تَمحو كُلَّ شَيءٍ وَلا يَبقى سِوى ذِكرُ الجَميل

“The hand of days erases everything — nothing remains but the memory of what was beautiful.”

إِنَّ الشَّبابَ كَأَنَّهُ طَيفُ مَنامٍ يُعانِقُ الإِنسانَ ثُمَّ يَنساه

“Youth is like a dream that embraces a man and then forgets him.”

نَحنُ لا نَملِكُ الغَدَ وَإِنَّما نَملِكُ هَذِهِ اللَّحظَة

“We do not own tomorrow; we own only this moment.”
